A film made by Optical Arts exploring order in space - how complex arrangements can reveal simplified forms in space and time. Four basic forms are examined; a square, circle, triangle and rectangle, using different techniques captured in camera to create or distort the shapes over time. The films explore the beauty within chaos, moments of calm are violently broken using various techniques from high explosives to simple ripples in water. The films also consider the principle of reification, where transitional moments allow a fleeting clarity of shape before departing back into disorder.

Research and Development
Custom rigs were designed, developed and refined to capture these effects entirely in camera with no CGI involved in the final films. These set-ups helped to create the illusion of material moving against gravity. The film embodies the process of capturing effects in camera, some techniques required development and refining after multiple takes, while others were carefully planned singles shots. All footage was captured using high speed cameras in 4k resolution.
